Hi
Today I cleaned the MH including the roof which was challenging! I noticed that some of the paint had been scraped off by the TV aerial being adjusted whilst in the down position.

Question is do I need to paint the patch or can I just leave it? Obviously you can’t see it so I’m not that bothered but thought I should check.

Thanks all

if its an alloy roof and the scratch is to the metal i would put some form of protection on it, touch up or the likes. stop the ally oxidising and spreading under the edges of the paint.

probably ok, might be worth putting the primer to go with it before the top coat. but it depends on how big an area and how bad the scuffing is.

there are others who know paints better than i but i believe top coat onto bare metal is not the best at staying on, and primer is often porous so need both unless its just scratches then touch upo might be enough.

If its not a lot you could put a funster sticker over it ... you'be seen from the air then!

Put some some pvc sticky tape on the area that might get scratched so that it looks like a well thought out mod.

many many years! since I was a kid
etching primer on bare aluminium followed by a couple of coats of top coat. If this will happen again, when the paint has dried 24hrs+ cover the area with thick vinyl wrap. the vinyl will give far more protection

I can recommend U-POL Etching Primer (available in a rattle can).
