We have always had rescues. I know how heart breaking it is when they go. But I do eventually find comfort in knowing that we dramatically improved their lives, especially our previous collie who was very obviously physically abused in the past. I'm sure you massively improved Martha's life too.

Thank you ALL for your kind words and thoughts, it’s all still very raw atm, the house is very empty.
We got her back home the same day and now we will set about how we will remember her.
