Right position

Is the yellow switch supposed to be up or down to refill water after winter drain down
Sorry to ask but bit of a beginner to all this ??

Put some water in, look underneath, worst case, it will start to run out and tap is in wrong position

Your picture shows the valve closed .. move to vertical to drain tank & boiler

Well that must have confused the OP. The best advice is put put some water in and check if any if coming out under the van.
