Didn't say before because we weren't sure till the weekend but we are now on our way, wait for it, a CAMPSITE, :doh::doh:
Should have been in France for a month now but not going so suddenly decided for a week in GT Yarmouth, and going to vauxhall camp as it is the closest we could find to the centre of town,
Just having a coffee ☕ break in a layby, tell you more when we get there.
Not been on a site in UK for at least 4 years.

don't panic Charlie, camp sites have not changed in the last 4 years, they stillwant to screw as much money out of you as possible. Just watch out for the moths as you open that old wallet of yours, they are not used to daylight

Hi Di Hi
with the extra distance some are not too bad but I would hate to be on one when they are back to normal capacity

I'm planning to go to the CAMC site at Yarmouth racecourse next week if the weather holds... perhaps a few hundred yards further - but a nicer walk [I think].
Surely your Haven cheapies are campsites?

I think for a singleton, the Racecourse works out slightly cheaper [unless you've found one of your world famous bargain rates]

Enjoy, the weather looks brill.

Edit: I wonder how many of the facilities will be open? Be interested to learn.

I saw a Youtube vid on Yarmouth and was surprised to learn it's got a longer history than Norwich... if you want to look behind the amusement arcades & kiss me quick hats.
It's also suffered a long decline & poor town planning decisions.

Just in case you're worried about the oft quoted paying for services that you may not use, you can console yourself that whilst you're away you'll still be paying your Council Tax . . . whilst not using the services provided . . .

Enjoy your break. (y)

GT Yarmouth is quite a nice place.....tho there was lots of immigrants there the last time I was there, but they won’t be slumming it on a camp site. 😱😂

You could always call in for a cupper at the Larrynwin chateauit it is a lovely position with unrestricted views across to Europe. ;)

I thought all campsites at race courses were closed for the rest of the year? Could be wrong tho.

I stayed at that site a few times when my daughter was young.

The on site pub used to do a cracking breakfast and really good Sunday lunch.
I expect they'll be cold and stale by now.
;)

I'm the same as you chaser always been touring abroad but have decided to stay here. I've just managed to book a couple of pub pitches at the Oxford canal area and a couple more in the Cotswolds for 10 days from tomorrow. We'll see; I might fancy doing it again............

Oh yes you have :D
Not counting yours this is a full blown all singing and dancing place, and nearly twice as much as yours, but you said you were fully booked in another thread.

Quite a choice chaser , driven past many many times but I would think far from being a quiet scenic site.
If you head into GtYarmouth beware the diving sea gulls on the market and the migrant workers from Banham poultry been a recent COVID outbreak there.

Great Yarmouth would be the last place in East Anglia I would visit. Which only goes to show.........we all like different things, which is just as well.
I hope you have a very nice time. :giggle:

Handy location a few hundred yards from the sea front.

Been here before in the old commer in the early seventies, and been to Yarmouth many times when the kids were small but in a static on haven at the other end of the beach, and Just smiffy yes we could have been sitting in the bar at gravelines in less time than it has took us to get here :(

but not a mask in sight
If you're social distancing [2m+] masks are irrelevant
...and if you're in a bar, masks are not mandated.

Just a general comment, not really directed at you or this thread but it seems that the population has not been convinced by the govt's BS mask claptrap.

Try and avoid the pitches behind the swimming pool, talk about postage stamp, barely room to wind out the canopy. The pitches in the opposite direction looked a bit larger. Mot our choice of site but took the 2 young nieces there a couple of years back, so good for the youngsters but we prefer something a bit more sedate. Each to their own enjoy your break and hopefully like so many of us will be able to get across the channel sooner rather than much later. Have and don't forget your kiss me quick hat.

We are on them mate, but of no consequence, plenty big enough for what we want , don't plan on staying on site, only somewhere to sleep.
But agree if you wanted an awning and stuff out , a bit small.

As with anywhere....it is what you make it.

Hope the weather remains kind to you 🤞🏻 and you enjoy your break👍🏼
