Yes if you wire it accordingly.

There are two ways they can be wired. Some more modern systems trigger from a reverse signal from the canbus van ECU to the radio. With these you can just press a button on the radio and it'll display the camera view whenever you want, the camera is on all the time.

But I assume yours isn't like this? It's probably wired so power to the camera comes from the reverse light. And when your screen/radio sees a signal, it switches on. You could switch the camera to a permanent 12v source so it's on all the time. There is a risk though that if the camera wasn't designed for continuous operation, it overheats. So the next best option is a switch for the power, but then you've got to run another cable from the front to the rear of the van.
