I’ve just swapped our Uconnect dab/satnav set for a pioneer because of the larger screen and apple play. The only problem I’ve yet to solve is the connection between the input on the rear of the pioneer and the cable from the camera. I’ve dealt with the the handbrake cable and the reverse gear function so the display shows the coloured lines but there’s no picture from the camera not, I reckon, until I connect into the input the cable from the camera. Where is the cable and how was it working originally and yet not now. I’ve used the connect2 interface and connect2 ducato everything but can’t weigh this up. Can anyone help please?

I imagine that the video line was a separate connection, not part of the main loom that the connect2 interface replicates. However, I have no specific information about the Ducato or its connect2 implementation. Were there definitely no other connections when you disconnected the original?

There were three connections in addition to the block which now connects through the connect2 interface etc. One is the FM aerial, the other two are DAB aerial and GPS signal aerial. I don’t know which of the latter two is which as I am awaiting the DAB connectors to arrive. I will not use the GPS. The attached shows the rear of the former radio.

I want to change my Fiat Connect2 head unit but I cannot find anyone who has successfully got the factory fitted rear camera to work. Three radio specialists that I have spoken with have all been non committal! I hope there is a solution and I’m watching this thread with great interest.

According to my research the DAB aerial needs a splitter connection kit and should work with the standard roof aerial on the Fiat PVC If the aerial has what looks like a spiral winding around the vertical rod. Good luck and please keep posting.

Thanks for the responses. I’m just finishing my dinner and going up to the van to have another look based on what you’ve said. Thanks for responding so quickly. I’ll let you know if I can get it working. If all else fails I was planning to open the back of the camera and if the cable to it is very distinctive maybe I’d seek it out at the front of the van. If that happens then I’ll probably be back to you with my findings and await instruction.

The original radio on ours did work but every time we drove past a sheep which was standing the signal went down. Once I have the FAKRA to radio aerial input connector I will let you know if it’s any better. If it doesn’t work better then I’m going to get a booster for around £16.00 from Amazon which had better work.
Again I’ll let you know.
Its the reversing camera that needs my attention more I feel at present.

Did the satnav instruct you to 'make a ewe turn when possible' when you passed the sheep?

There’s an adaptor on eBay which comes from a German company which appears not to contradict what’s being quoted on the many helpful comments on here. It’s £43 though which is ok providing that it’s going to do the job.
The DAB connection to the aerial does appear to work. No ewe turns.

That looks very promising. Well done for finding that one, I’ve been searching a long time for a solution before changing my head unit. Are you going to go for it?(y)

Hello
This is a very old thread but we’ve just solved the issue with our reversing camera. It was the Connects2 adapter that wasn’t doing what it claimed. We bought an Incartec adapter which works a treat and the milo meter has stopped flashing as a bonus

Thanks that is good information. I had given up and I am now using a Carpuride unit with a 9”screens. It needs a bit of getting used to but works very well for me when combined with the original headset. Thanks great update.
