So that’s me retired after 31 years of talking to ✈️. First trip with no work demanding my return. Friday off to Wysdom Touring Park for a few days, Lytton Lawn for a week then Seaburn THS for a few days before coming home. Think I’m gonna like this retirement lark! Say hello if you see us. Roll on France next year!

Enjoy your retirement Mike, does this mean I won't need a translator next time I phone apc.

Its a great feeling.......waking up on the first day of what would have been the start of your working week and realising you don’t need to go to work! Enjoy.

5 more years for me😤😤

Friday 30th October 2026, I’ll be a tad over 60👍
Sorry to say the last 5 years have been the hardest for me.
You will get there it’s like a marathon though
I Just turned 60 and called it a day.

My plan was to retire at 55, worked on until 57, had enough. That was 3 years ago, these last 3 years have flown by. Fortunately I have a decent pension, no debt, good health and very little stress. Enjoying every day.

For god sake don't let Cazpaul see this thread hes just gone off like a cheap firework over the retirement threads either that or its because he's got tuna sandwiches tomorrow 😉

Fair play!! Enjoy!! A good work mate passed away in his sleep this weekend age 61. Worked all his life and hasn’t had a retirement. Makes you seriously think about retirement age

Just remember it's not all fun and games ,
Think what you lose , no weekends , no bank holidays, no having to get up at a set time ( lost time staying in bed too long )
Then there's all those jobs around the house etc that there's no excuse not too do !!,
Then her who must be obeyed will expect you too share her chores !!

Covid helped my wife and I retire last year (I was 55 and wifey 59).
We were furloughed and opted for voluntary redundancy.
Since last April, we have toured France taking 9 weeks to travel 3500 miles, toured Kent,Oxfordshire,Wales,Somerset,Cheshire, Lancashire, Northumberland and Durham. Looking forward to touring Norfolk in October then a 7 month tour of Fance, Spain and Croatia in 2022.
Retirement sucks 😂😂😂😂😂
