There are not any bad places there!

The campers favourite is Casa Velha up the top of the town, opposite the town hall. They used to do a campers special for a fixed price all in inc wine, often flyers left under the windscreens of vans at the aires!

Rui is a well known seafood place, not cheap, but excellent.

churrasqueria val de Mar has been relocated from the old market to the ‘tent city’ in the car park whilst refurbishments are going on, not the same atmosphere, but still good scoff, and you’ll never spend more than €10 no matter how many caraffes of wine you have🤣

Ar’t asca by the river front is good for live music at the weekends, as is Cafe Ingles by the castle, especially if you want a Sunday roast!

or there’s always Burger Ranch, if you’re a phillistine 🤣🤣🤣

Just up from lidl a good cooked meal and bottle for €5. 3 choices a day, sometimes a roast as well.
Lunchtime. Closes about 3.
food is excellent.

I second this.
As you walk toward the "tents" though the first one always got chocca and wait time dragged a bit.
next door but one the last one, was same food, same cheap prices for your piri piri and salad etc, but not as rammed.
