Replacing hook-up inlet socket on my bailey 765

Just a quickie, I'm about to replace my electric hook up inlet socket (old one looking a little jaded). Do I need to isolate any power source?, I'm thinking not as it should be a fifteen minute job, old out new in. Just a little confirmation needed please.

I guess you could pull the main fuses and isolators just in case. Can't hurt can it.
No idea what would happen if you shorted the wires to the charger etc.
Experts will no doubt confirm.

Nothing 12v dc should be coming down the 240v ac wiring. You are effectively safely isolated if you are not plugged into an electric hook up point. If you are still concerned check with a multimeter set at 240v ac across L-N L-E N-E at the inlet socket on the side of the van. Then change setting on multimeter to 12v dc and do same checks, there should be no voltages registered on either setting. For the truly professional way of checking for safe isolation you should check the multimeter against a known source of 240v ac BEFORE and AFTER you check for safe isolation or use a voltage indicator and proving unit. To check the 12v dc setting on the multimeter test across the +ve & -ve terminals of the vehicle’s battery before and after you test the EHU. You need to confirm that the multimeter is showing a voltage, either ac or dc, both before and after checking for safe isolation, because the result you want when checking the EHU is that THERE IS NO VOLTAGE PRESENT, you need to prove the multimeter actually works properly before you do the tests. Ac voltage on a multimeter will give you something between 230 & 250 volts, dc with the engine off should be around 12.5 to 13.8volts. But as I said right at the start there should be no voltage of any kind at the EHU if it’s not plugged in.

Its the Hookup inlet, so no cable plugged in = no power going in, so no need to isolate anything, having done it due to broken flap you just remove it disconnect the 3 wires and then reverse process and as mentioned reseal to bodywork, you may be able to access from inside to get to wires, I could

Thanks Russ. No power will be going into the van as the hook up inlet I'm replacing is the only source of external power entering g the van once plugged in.

Think I need to do the same. The flap on ours has turned a yellowish colour.
Is it possible to just change the flap?

Just to state the the obvious, you can confirm that there is no inverter connected to the 12V battery. And no generator running.
