Noticed this morning, after filling up in Montreuil, that the battery locker door seemd loose. Opened it and found that the lock was broken. I‘ve sourced a replacement from Prima Leisure. Imagine my surprise then when, despite it being for a motorhome, it came in it at £2.99 rather than £500! (Yes, Ive not considered the postage yet).🙂

My question is this; I want to retain the same locker key which opens all the lockers i.e. gas, toilet cassette, flush and habitation door. The replacement catch makes clear that the lock is not included, which is fine but how do you remove the lock and insert into the new catch? The plastic in the broken catch is brittle and as we‘re in France at the moment, have bodged a fix so the battery locker closes and therefore keeps water from the leisure battery and secured it with duck tape. This should see us safely home. I’ll order the replacement catch when I know I can reuse the existing lock. Ive noticed a number on the key. I really don't want to have to replace all locks!

Thanks in advance.

I believe its the same a many Zadi locks the key tumbler can be removed with a special red key that cost about £10.
Then inserted into the new lock sleeve

I don't know the locker location or the size but could it have been broken into by migrants looking for a hiding place (albeit going in the wrong direction)?

Unlikely to be thought of as a hiding place, it would be too small for a person, even a child. I also think it‘s unlikely to be an attempted theft. No marks outside the locker or lock. The plastic catch is very brittle.

like this, ahhhgg picture wont upload..
I can find one but it ain’t a tenner! £44 ex postage. Ive seen a youtube video comparing the use of a Zadi barrel lock removal key and a steak knife. So far, the steak knife’s winning! 😀

i believe this is correct but you need to check the prefix on your key like FB, or another as there are a few main types.

If you google a curved steak knife is alleged to remove the barrel......
But I bought the red key.
