Hi funsters,

I need to ask the advice of you all as I have to replace the cab (starter) battery on a 2021 Fiat based moho.

Based on previous stories of airbag ECU failure etc etc, are there any precautions I need to take - other than the usual when changing a battery on any vehicle. I'm aware that the alarm will activate (probably) and I need to put the tracker in a maintenance mode, it's just fears of ECU damage that I'm looking to guard against. The van also has a Vanbitz battery master so there will probably be a small amount of charging current when I disconnect the battery.

Thanks all.

There are a few methods the one I've used is:

Wait 10 min after turning off the ignition.
Disconnect battery and replace with new battery.
Wait at least 5min, then turn on ignition for 2min, then turn off.
Leave 5 min then start engine.

Thanks Lenny, followed your method and all OK, no fried ECUs.

Cheers,
Dave
