Has anyone removed the linkages from the gearbox on an older Ducato?
Is it a simple case of prying them off or is there some form of clip or retainer that I’ve not been able to see yet?

TIA
Rog

If you have taken the bolt out it should just come off try opening up the slot with a big screwdriver if it's the linkage arm on the top of the gear box
If it's the linkage rods on each of the cups theirs a small clip that goes through them DO NOT TRY TO PRY THEM OFF REMOVE THE CLIP
OR YOU WILL DAMAGE THEM
Pleas do post a photo of it and i will talk you through it sum don't have a clip and you can gust pry them off with a big screwdriver have a good look at them then go have a coffee then look at them from a different angel
and take close up pictures of a clean component give them a clean spray brake and clutch cleaner on them or use paraffin and a old paint brush then have a good look with a inspection lamp maybe go have a sig if you smoke then go back and have another look

As Bill says, if they look like this, you have to pry the little clip out first (hiding between the spherical part and the plain portion), then lift the socket off the ball.

I managed to take a few pics.
Possibly not good enough for you guys to advise, but really difficult to get there as I don't have a lift so crawling underneath.

JK Towers gearbox site is the one to go to but I just checked his website and he’s closed until the end of the month due to injury.
He also sells upgraded linkages which he designed himself

Thanks Winger
I might just try to pry them off and if damaged will get new ones. I can’t see how else I can get the gearbox out unless I manage to disconnect from the top. At the bottom there is very little space to work in and I can’t see if there is a clip let alone actually take it off.

I managed to take some better pics.
Next step I'm going to try get in there with a little brush and maybe WD40, clean it up a bit to see if it looks like a clip of sorts. If it is I'm going to be wondering how on earth one gets such a clip off without nanobots!

couple of decent screwdrivers or tyre irons one each side and pop them off,

I might use a 12mm or 13mm flat spanner that fits under the cap and then lever it up. I think that was suggested on another forum.

I finally popped them off with a lever and flat spanner, one with a 13mm flat and the other with an 11mm flat. Came off reasonable easy so hopefully all’s good!
