We decided back in 2007 refillable gas bottles were the way to go, and decided on two 11kg gaslow bottles, but in 2010 Theonlysue Sue got some aluminium ones so I just had to have those being half the weight, so sold the gaslow and got aluminium 11kg from gas it. 🙂

Well 10 years on we contacted the factory in Germany that made them, and asked about testing them, Marion at alugas who speaks very good English said send a photo, which we did and booked us in for 09.00 and said you can overnight at the factory, 😉 a bit of noise but free. 😁
So €74.50 new valves bottle tested and good for another 10 years. 😎

A very organised friendly company to deal with and happy with the result. 🙂

We then filled with gas at € 0.55 a litre.

😁 Bob.

As it is now in excess of 23years since I "retired". I could be wrong. but, Back then Technically anything below 150liters (water) capacity was NOT subject of statuary examination?. Any Examinations where "advisory". Most suppliers will recomend a 10 year "life", and to be fair that should be followed. The fittings are more suspect though than the actual vessels. EDIT:- ANY "relief" devices must be replaced with certified ones as a matter of course.

Thinking about replacing my Gasit bottles with Gaslow, have been told that they have a warranty of ten years; however on reading the Gaslowdirect.com website they will replace Gaslow 10 year bottles with refurbished bottles then certified for fifteen years for a cost of £99 per bottle. Why the difference in life?
