Hi guys. This September we are planning on travelling down from Calais to Provence area. I wonder if any of you can recommend some lakes to stay at? I have a few on my list that I have picked out from the map but there is nothing like recommendations. Really like views and if you could recommend some good Aires and campsites along the way that would be great.

Not sure if it's on your route but lac Vassiviere in the Creuse/Haute-Vienne is nice and I believe there is an Air but we stayed on the camp site as we were still tugging in those days.

Dependant upon where in provence you want to go.
Esparron st croix castellane and a little lake just below it. Mormoiran plan d'eau. Serre poncon are all good and different parts of the lakes give you different options.
There are several river stops as well. Also available are gorges and clues.
I ve just had to fly back from provence for work where we have been for the past month and wife out there by herself. You may want view photo of the day thread for the past month or so.
I have whacked on a number of photos most days.
We didnt go much on st cassien. Only saw a bit of it though. Not a great feel for where we stopped and fairly certain someone tried getting into van.
Provence and rivers and lakes is a bit of an area i know a bit about so get back to me with what you like and i ll give best options
