Going to try and squeeze in a Long weekend (COVID pending ) in December . Preferably after a dog friendly CS about 2 hours away from Southampton . Like - walks , local pub and views .

suggestions are most welcome

We like the Wye Valley/Forest of Dean there are several decent sites but given the time of year I would suggest Whitemead (Bit of a holiday camp) as its all hard standing and they have some leisure facilities. Very good dog walks directly from the site and two decent pubs in the village.

I think they are open all the way through just been on and they have availability for a hard standing pitch from 11th Dec?

The three magpies pub at Devises in Wiltshire. Right beside the canal with excellent dog walking and you are on a cl behind a lovely pub with excellent food

Salisbury c&cc site. Walkable/bus into the city. Harvester pub over the road. Fabulous dog walking around Old Sarum.

Moreton-in-Marsh is nice to visit, good walk to the arboretum with a bird of prey place next to it, Bibury could be en-route for you and is very pretty.

Cheers

Jim
