All the gear, and no idea!
As above, what I want is a decent WiFi printer that can sit on the side somewhere in the house and will be ready for any of us to send it something to print. In our house we have 3 users with 3 iPhones, 3, iPads and 2 Mac books that will be using the printer. Got to be WiFi, colour, decent quality and print ready (once set up of course).

We use this one for that very purpose. Just for the family printing return labels and photos, using wifi from phones etc. .

Forget about ink, lasts for about 10 years and as long as you print a page once a month it won't clog up. This is the same one you see me drag around the shows for years. It's a small bulletproof printer for very little money.

That's the one we've got too. Had it about 5 years and never needed to add any ink so far.

That's a good price - it was more expensive than that when we bought ours.

Have been using for years and would recommend Canon TS series - although it will have been upgraded by now.
Wireless all the family can use it wherever they are in the house.
As always it’s the cost of inks and not the unit. We always use the manufacturers ink but a bit of a brand snob.Oh and for us the print quality it great on photos as well as standard prints. Does scanning well and the software allows you to scan as a multiple page document - expect others do the same?

We use the Canon. Yes inks more expensive than the Epsom, but we use the scanner more than the printer, and that doesn't cost.

When Canon dies, I'll buy an Epsom replacement though -> worth noting Canon you can get 3rd party inks which in our opinion at least are indesquisable from real ink. That said the ink multipacks last our use 5 years a go, so in reality unless we printed a LOT more we would use genuine ink. One thing with Canon to note is they sell both small and large capacity (called XL) ink tanks for our model, the small ones last no time at alll, but the large ones contain years of ink. The price difference is about 3 quid, so just don't buy the smaller tanks (which funnily enough are sold in all the shops!), and order the XL ones from amazon cheap instead.

We have the Epsom , much better than our previous HP. Works fine from anywhere around the house. Just got a tiny Kodak mini P210R to take away in motorhome for L to add pictures to her ā€œ logā€.

if you want something that is very compact and can also be taken with you somewhere - https://www.canon.co.uk/printers/pixma-tr150/

We use this at home and also in the motorhome (print OS maps when out walking).
Works well with iphones, ipads and macs.

Another Epson ink tank user here. Wireless printing seems quite stable unlike with the Samsung laser printer and the previous HP printers.

Our 10 year old HP ā€œAll-in-Oneā€ printer/scanner/copier recently died on me. We do not do a lot of printing, so did not I did not feel inclined to spend a lot on an upmarket model. However, we found the ability on our old one to scan documents for posting and occasionally copying to be useful. After much research, I opted for a Canon PIXMA TS 7650i. This is a WiFi enabled printer/scanner/copier, which works without difficulty from our iPads and iPhones. It is cheap at Ā£80 for the functionality offered and I am happy with the print quality. The downside at this price is that it is a cartridge inkjet model, with the future ongoing relatively high ink costs.

If of any interest WESTY66 ……..details at

p.s. A friend mentioned (can not vouch to be correct), that if you register the model with Canon or install on-line firmware updates you get locked into only using OEM Canon cartridges rather than 3rd party cheaper options.

Apologies for hijack. I might be interested in a wifi based laser mono printer. My Brother DCP-L2500 printer/scanner chugs along nicely atm but it is USB connected to my desktop only and it is inconvenient to have to email material from my other PCs to my desktop in order to print so I might upgrade eventually.

You could try to follow an online guide and use a Raspberry Pi connected to the printer (a cheap one) to wifi enable it.
Certainally thats how I get my 3d printer (which is similar a usb only model) to be networked to rest of the equipment on the network so I don't need to have my desktop on 24/7 to 3d print (or move fiddly sdcards around). Power used on a pi is minimal (under 2W).
