I replaced the Fiamma 28 vent cover today, and it looked so nice I thought I'd have a go at cleaning the vents over the kitchen and bathroom. Here's the inside of the bathroom one. Twenty minutes with a degreaser and I was able to shift the dirt as you can see. I won't show you the one from the kitchen roof as it had a black grease and fat covering about one mm thick and you would want to run and hide from it!

The insect screen frame had broken in two places along one edge, with the usual bodged repair. A stainless steel cable tie superglued on has provided rigidity in the correct direction and is invisible from below.

No amount of elbow grease on the forward vent cover did any good, so it was declared a lost cause!

The trouble with cleaning the roof vents is you can now see what’s in the dark corners. You might not like what you find.
I changed the kitchen vent on ours because it was cracked, storm Dennis victim. The old one didn’t seem to bad but I can see right to the back of the cupboards now.
