Reading/ spot lights

Hi wondered if anyone can help please.
We have a 2010 swift sundance 590 rs , lovely vehicle. the control panel is a
NORDELETTRONICA NE183-mate CONTROL PANEL - 1432.183.03.

My question is we have 4 spotlights/reading lights that only come on with the main lights. I have read the manual but cannot see how they operate without all ceiling lights being on. My wife is going crazy!! Any help gratefully received. One owner thought you pushed a button twice? cannot get it to work.

Our 2012 Bessacarr, with a Sergeants panel, LED spotlights only came on with the full habitation lights but not certain about the 2 halogen on the door pillars as I never tried them without switching it on.

Thanks, seems crazy, may have to speak to electrician???
