Hi Paul
Thats what I think I will eventually downsize too, but they've changed the spec in 2018 to only 2 burner hob , previously 3 which is a shame as we tend to cook all our meals either on cadac or in the van , as I don't like eating at pubs / restuarants
Thanks Fidget. We realise that it has only two rings but the ones advertised at the moment have a small/grill oven. This would suit us , we have three rings but only two working which we can manage with plus the oven.
And yes, it has 3 burners on the hob, BUT it is rare and difficult to use all three simultaneously in all honesty. There isn't really the space to fit all the pans. And Mrs mikebeaches is an avid cook and we eat almost all home-prepared meals when using the van. Sue says two rings would be plenty.
Reference the oven - the continental specification vans do not have an oven, it is an optional extra. But I believe all vans that are imported to the UK by British dealers have them fitted as standard. It's one of those things considered 'essential for Brits'? We rarely use ours and would have preferred the extra large kitchen storage drawer, that is replaced by the oven. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the location of the oven is very low, at a point where the central corridor is at its narrowest, so not the most convenient place to use - but I guess it's OK.
I know that to many folk it is considered essential, but personally I just see it as an almost waste of space travelling rattle box which has to be battled with to damp the noise.
Sue uses a double skillet on the hob and a standard size Remoska a lot if we're on a hook-up.
Just ask if there's any other insight required in respect of the V68. We are still very happy with ours, but not quite everything is perfect - which van is?
