I have had a look on the internet, and on here...... thought I would try Rapido in Mayenne, spoke to the chap that is mentioned on here ( Anthony Pfaff ) nice chap, but, its only a production unit and therefore can't help........ anyone have any advice where I can get new moulded panel fitted ???

The crack is to the left of the light, but, when warmer the crack opens !!!!!!

If it’s GRP a boat builder/repairer should be able to fix it.

Have you tried plastic welding specialists.

I’d be looking to a caravan repair specialist or boat specialist in GRP. A new panel, I suspect, will be very difficult and expensive to get hold of.

I have a Rapido 891F with the same problem so wonder if it's a common problem?

I had a 2018 Rapido 680F which had exactly the same problem - a straight hairline crack. It was under warranty and I spoke with Anthony Pfaff to gee up the dreadful after sales department of my supplier. It was sorted within 3 weeks! I got the impression it was a known problem. I could be a common part to several models.

I don't understand when you say it's a 'production unit'? Are you referring to the Mayenne site? Pfaff is responsible for British Rapido and is quite high up the ladder.

B-well........ thanks so much, will get on the case on Monday !!!!!

Ah..... I wrote to Pfaff assuming he was in the Mayenne site, and as I will be over there in a couple of weeks, I intimated that I could pick up any parts..... thats when he told me it was a production unit and couldn't be done, however, he did ask some details of my vehicle, which I obviously gave hime, but, not understanding who he was, so, maybe he can help with the issue, but, was more enquiring as to where I purchased it and was it a Rapido agent!!!!

Hello two of us- please can you let me know how you concluded your cracked moulding. We have just this minute come back from Spain and noticed the same crack on our 2017 Rapido 8096df 55 edition in exactly the same place ( could be the same photo if it wasn't for the Spanish dirt we haven't had a chance to clean off yet!)
We even went past Mayenne on the way to the ferry yesterday but only noticed the crack this morning.
Any advice appreciated as to how we remedy this obvious defect in these Rapidos, especially as we love the van. Thanks

thats right, it doesnt make sense just make the part in one piece

It's definitely a crack (not a joint). If it's a 2016 build it's well out of warranty but I'd be hammering on Rapido's door using the evidence of a known manufacturing defect that has been evidenced by others (including me). Whilst it's not a safety issue, in my opinion there should have been a notification sent out and a replacement program. Their reputation is at stake!!

posted on the other thread, this is mine today
