Hi all,
Been trying, without success, to locate the position of the split level charger, so it must be well hidden away somewhere!
Can anyone help?

I dont have a 986, a mere 6 series on a fiat
If you have a CBE system again it is built in to a distribution unit. Typicaly with a separate mains charger.

Best not to mess around with the CBE split charge relay as it's built into the CBE 12v distribution board, as mentioned above.

If you wish to disable it, best to use an external relay as described in this thread:

You can check if the split charge relay is working by:

Connect multimeter set to volts, range say 0 to 20v, across the leisure battery. Record voltage.
Start engine and record voltage. Should rise up to 14.4v if split charge relay working normally.

Sorry if it’s a silly question, when measuring the voltage with the engine started, are you still measuring across the leisure battery?

Not silly at all, but yes measure across the leisure battery (you`re checking to see if the magic volts progress from the alternator to the leisure batts, they will only travel if there is a split charge relay (or B2B) fitted)

Yes, still measuring across the leisure battery.

I've installed a permanent voltage measuring device across the leisure batteries (BM-1) which monitors the rise and fall of the leisure battery voltage under various conditions, i.e. engine charging, mains charging and resting voltage.

Does your Scheiber box have a model number on it? Its very likely the split charge relay is built into the Scheiber box, and also the fridge relay too. What year is your MH? Newer ones have a battery-to-battery (B2B) charger instead of a split charge relay.

Don't forget this probably won't work if you have solar unless you do it at night.
