Will the sites on the coast north of Valencia be quiet at this time of year? Quiet as in not noisy and not busy. I’m thinking that most people are south of Valencia? Any recommendations?

Camping Ribamar at Alcossebre if you like to be a bit out of town.

Depends how far north of Valencia you mean: Cleethorpes was very quiet last weekend :)

But seriously, in December we stayed a few days in Valencia Camper Park (very quiet), a site in Prades in the mountains where we were the only van (it was below zero at night, though), a site in Benicarlo (quite popular, but still peaceful), a site in Calp (maybe about a third full and also peaceful). In fact we encountered no noisy nights or anti-social activity in the whole 33 days -- a few fireworks on New Year's Eve was about it! We did avoid the larger sites on the coast, though.

Ribamar is a lovely quiet site, go on the ACSI card website and check the reviews. Alcossebre is a really nice town with a good Camper stop in the town.

Camping Monmar at Moncofa was quite quiet when we were there last year. It’s a smallish site and does have a C&CC Rally but the rest of the site was less than 50% full in late Feb. Within walking distance of shops and a few bars/restaurants and the sea is 5 minute stroll. It seemed very popular with cyclists, perhaps because public transport is limited. The site runs a minibus service to a local station once a day, on demand, if you want to visit Valencia.

Thanks for all the suggestions, they look promising. We are already south, we are heading north - we need to be in Girona the first week of February.

Camping Playa Tropicana also Alcossebre. The entrance track to Ribamar is atrocious.

I wouldn't call Tropicana quiet, there will be a C&CC rally on at the moment, the road up to Ribamar is not that bad, we have been up it many times with our 5'er and also on bikes though it can change in heavy rain.

Ribamar is much nicer than Playa Tropicana (in my view.) The approach road is bumpy and unmade, but no problem, if you take it slowly.

We like Playa Tropicana, never found it noisy. The heated pool is lovely, the shower block is modern and spotless and they have the best stocked shop I have ever been in, on a campsite.

We also like Tropicana, it is a nice site, but the OP asked for a quiet and not busy site, I would imagine Tropicana will be fairly full at this time of year and will certainly be busy.

Ribamar is much smaller and even when full is still relatively quiet if a little less convenient for the town and beaches which may not matter too much at this time of year.

The last time we stayed in Alcossebre we used the new Camperstop in the centre which was excellent for our short stay but will be a little crowded when full.

Thank you very much to those of you who suggested Ribamar - it is perfect. And Alcossebre is very nice too. We may never leave

Wish I was there now. Have you been shell collecting on the beach yet? :h:

We have yet to find much beach, the tide seems to be in all the time. I know the Med doesn’t have much tidal range.

Only a few small beaches near Ribamar, mostly shells, a nice small beach at the start of the track up and sandy beaches at Fuentes and the centre of Alcossebre and out towards Playa Tropicana.
