I’m considering getting one. In France/Germany is it likely to be safe leaving it on pitch whilst we went out in van for day? The other option is to leave a pop up decathlon tent.
Also, is there any reason it can’t be used for overnight accommodation for a teenager?

Don't see any issues with leaving it on a pitch or sleeping in it.

They only have mesh sides so are not waterproof, with the optional side panels they are more waterproof but are not totally especially if windy.

We have the six sided one which we used in Portugal for a month or so in April/May and were impressed with the quality, especially compared to the Quechua shelter from Decathlon that we have had two of, left up all winter in Portugal lucky to get more than one season out of them.

Can't see why you couldn't leave it on pitch when you are away but without the extra side panels everything inside is visible.

The Quest shelters are great as a covered outdoors space for shade, entertaining etc but know that some UK campsites may be cautious about allowing them as may class them as gazebos which aren't stable & likely to blow over & do damage - we literally caught a gazebo in a festival rally field once as it flew overhead after bouncing off the roofs of a few motorhomes! If well pegged & strapped the Quest shelters are more stable than gazebos but not sure that they are waterproof enough for sleeping in as have seen people sat in them getting soaked - the latest models on their website have a waterproofed roof & maybe with the solid side panels too it may not now be an issue?

From the point of view of sleeping in it , it’s rather draughty and the side over the entrance would be difficult to get out of at night, certainly on the old style. When our son and his girlfriend joined us at the Jurassic fields festival last year I bought a cheap pop up to put inside which they slept in. This meant we didn’t bother with the 4th side over the entrance so they weren’t trapped but still had their privacy.

Thanks. We may end up taking our Quechua 2 man pop up as well. I’d better check it fits in! Just dig it out of the shed and put it up in the shed ... it’s huge!

Just bought one with two sides included for £154.98 (including two sides and delivery) from The Deal Channel (part of Ideal World the shopping channel.
They still have some on offer.

We bought our six sider from them at a very good price also.

Bought one at Newbury show paid to much for it but still a good buy much prefer it to my blow up drive away and so quick and easy to put up.

There is a new version called the quest pop up 4 pro, which has permanently attached sides that has windows with covers the sides can be unzipped and rolled up, which should be more waterproof.

Apparently, (who knew!!!) That's the one we've bought!!!

With these Quest pop ups, it has made wind outs redundant, lighter more robust, and the best bit, cheaper!
