Got a puncture the other day now need to sort it out. Is it usual to get a puncture fixed or do you just buy a new tyre. I ask cos pressure on tyre is a lot higher than a car tyre

I'd be guided by whether any of the reputable local companies are prepared to undertake a repair. This usually depends on where in the tyre the damage is. Age of the tyre and remaining tread depth very secondary when you've only got 4 dinner plates worth of rubber keeping you safe

If you drove on it flat for more than 10 or 20 yards it will probably need replacing. Need to get the tyre off the rim and if there are very small rubber balls inside its a sign the side walls have over heated.

Agree with Lenny, especially if motorhome on the move when puncher occurs. If tyre not shredded a good chance the side walls will have sustained significant damage even if not visible. Getting advice from an expert is the right way to go.

Coincidence I have just watched this video. Well worth watching.

He does repair tyres, and shows how in other videos.

So my opinion for what it is worth is... Is it worth risking your £20K, £40K or £60K motorhome for a £100 tyre?

Providing the puncture is not near or on the side wall, and has not cut or damaged the chords there is no reason why a puncture should not be repaired

But if you go somewhere and they try to plug it without removing the tyre, tell them thanks but no thanks
Properly done with a 'mushroom from the inside a puncture repair should be fine

Used to plug lorry tyres 110psi. But do check for age, and general condition. It’s your life, and you only get one of them. £100 cheap for a life or two?

I see in another thread Innkeeper that you are thinking of Morocco next year.
We have bought a complete spare wheel for our 2020 trip.
Not having one last time made me very nervous.

Got a slow puncture a couple of weeks back in Orkney (screw in the tread).
Took it to tyre place and they repaired it however also got them to chageover with the spare (steel vs alloy) to use it only in emergency.

I have been driving cars, vans, trucks since 1967, no idea how many punctures that I have had repaired without problem in that time.
