On our third trip out in our new motorhome, had a great big nail in the tyre, and don't have a spare. Fortunately the dealer recommended that they put some autoseal gel into the tyres before we bought it. Tyre didn't deflate, but left nail (with 1cm head and 3cm long) in the tyre till we got home ~150 miles. Just removed it and drove the MH around the block, and seems to have sealed OK. Slight external sign of where the gel sealed the hole from the inside. Glad I went for this optional extra!. Its not the usual foam gunk that ruins the tyres, but is put in the tyre as a preventative measure.

Anybody else use this or a similar treatment in thier tyres at all times? what are your experiences with this stuff?

It's saved by bacon a few times on my trailer tyres. Seems to have worked for you (y)

It is commonly used on tubeless bicycles, where it is very effective. However, I'm not sure I'd trust it as a permanent repair on a motorhome tyre. At the very least, replace immediately if the hole was not in the normal designated repairable area.

It’s used frequently in ‘adventure’ motorcycles too.....Obviously like everything the technology has moved on and is becoming more mainstream and ’normal’.

Don’t know about vehicle tyres but had some goo put in my forklift tyres stopped working after a couple of years.
The Stans no tubes I’ve got in my mountain bike tyres is supposed to be topped up every 6 months but as long as it still sounds liquid I don’t bother.

Can't remember what had been used but we put a BMW in for mot after a long trip round Spain, don't know how long we had had the puncture or where we got it, had no idea.
So glad it had been done, might not be motorhoming now.

well ... 24 hours on since I pulled the nail out, and seems to be fully sealed .. no loss in pressure, and impressed so far.

i have had puncture safe... same stuff different name; in my tyres for a long while. would not be without it even with a spare wheel.
it has a significant chance of preventing tyre damage or a blow out from a slow puncture at speed.
