I am currently in Benidorm and have been having problems with my water system. The first problem I had was the kitchen tap did not automatically start the pump when turned on so I couldn’t get any water from it. I found I had to switch on the bathroom tap in order to get water from the kitchen tap. also I had to prime the system every time I needed to use the tap. I took van into Euronautica at Calpe. They fixed a new micro switch onto the tap and told me all was well with the system.
the kitchen tap did turn on the pump now but I found I still had to prime the system every time I needed water. i got a number for a local guy who came and looked at it. He fitted a new pump.
I have now got a new pump and a new micro switch on the tap, but the system still needs priming every time I want water. I cannot see any leaks anywhere but the water seems to just flow back into the water tank.
does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? just some information. The water pump does not keep coming on, which leads me to believe there isn’t a leak.

U need a non return valve fitted inline just after the pump.
It stops the water draining back into the tank.

There should be no need for fitting a non return valve as that should be taken care of by the pump, so it's likely that either the new pump fitted was not like for like or is faulty.

Thank you for your replies, I will look at getting a none return valve.

Not necessarily. An in-line diaphragm pump has built-in one-way valves, but a submersible pump usually has rotary impellers that allow back-flow when the pump stops. Many of these pumps have an extra one-way valve added, either built-in or as a push-on fitting. But some don't.

It does no harm to cut the outflow pipe and add an extra one-way valve, they are readily available in motorhome/caravan accessory stores/sites.
