Problem with Cassette

We have a problem when we sit on it the toilet the red full dig lights up and the Sog stops working when we push the slide to close the trap it seems at times to rectify the problem any body any ideas

It would seem that the magnetic internal float that gives the warning light is stuck "up". Did this occur after a good ol shake of the cassette?
You have to put your hand in and manually move the float down, or if it is just a slide magnet, use one on the outside to slide it back down.

Sounds like you have a frightened cassette, take it out and take the top off and see what you find. Be nice.

thoroughly clean the cassette, then release the mechanism, take it indoors and wash it under a running hot tap to remove scale and hardened on loo paper. when dry, thoroughly lubricate with silicone spray. reassemble and it should be solved (till next time)
