Probiotics for dogs (1 Viewer)

Does anyone give their dogs probiotics on a regular basis ? Our six month Cocker spaniel has had diarrhoea and took her to vets, £55 later and a tube of probiotic paste. Looking on line much cheaper. Is there any advantage to giving one regularly?

A couple of large table spoons of Onken live cultures yogurt every lunchtime has worked wonders for her. Four years later she still has it daily

Yes we give our dog probiotics.
She's very old, and has had so many antibiotics lately that's its upset her system, we were prescribed purina Fortiflora by the vet and it works.
Small sachets of powder to sprinkle on food
However we now buy them from Amazon at a third of the cost.
She has one sachet twice a week, all well with this dose, but you can use them more frequently.

Older lab has pumpkin added to her food to firm hrr motions, she is on grain free food now as she became intolerant to wheat

Our 5 year old Cocker is now on a good quality raw food he was always lose but not now.
There is about half the waste to pickup as well.

What ever happened to the days when the dog had the left overs from the meal.
Had a bone every now and then as well, seemed to work back in the day.

None of our dogs have ever had any thing Luke it every dog we have had has lived to a good old age on normal dog food
