Can anyone recommend where one is able to get a private covid test in or around Calais allowing us to get the tunnel crossing in February along with the other prerequisite documentation. Many thanks.

latest from the tunnel website, hope this helps. Attached is the covid testing form which most links require. Hopefully some of the Guinea pigs will post further details of their experience with the time it takes to get the results.

Travelling From France to the UK

From 04:00hrs Friday 15th January 2021 Customers aged 11 and older travelling on our passenger service require a negative result from a PCR test taken in the previous 72 hours. At UK border controls you will need to present an email or text message certificate issued by the testing facility - failure to do so will result in a £500 fine.

Where can you get tested?

  • There is no COVID-19 testing facility at the Eurotunnel site.

According to LeShuutle it’s free.

I think it's wrong that after having to pay for your own test showing you're negative (hopefully) then you have to self isolate too? Surely, you have more credibility than a majority of the public who have not had a test to prove you are covid free.

Also, stopping near Calais seems like a security hazard to me with regards to illegals who would like to cadge a lift without taking a test?

I’m not a foreigner Ken, it’s the bloody French that’s the foreigners, they should never have been allowed to occupy France in the first place place, being so close to England.
Graham, Tell that to the ECAS when you go through the French and UK border checks at the tunnel? I'm sure they'll wave you through without wanting to trample all over your van

Thought Jim was paying for all Funsters testing needs.

It didn't say, it just says Covid testing in France is free to All, i presume if you give an address of the site you are on, that would Suffice

Picking up this matter again as I am due to enter UK in about 10 days. Wonder where to get my latrel flow test near Calais coming from the East. Fully EU vaxed and just staying for 36 hours so I guess just need the entry test before I leave France for UK

You also need to book a Day 2 test and fill in passenger locator form. ET have lots of info on their site and if travelling by them you can upload your vaccination certificates etc.
