The P.O. credit card will soon be no more... It is changing to JaJa ( they pronounce the German way ( YAH YAH ) and not as the character out of Star Wars JaJa Binks LOL !! )
I called them today to check it could still be used across the Euro zone for purchases at no charge..
Happy to report that will be the case :-)

my card arrived about a month ago but I had the info and was able to download the app back in the Summer. The app is so much better than the Post Office one. Much more user friendly.

Have you read the reviews about the problems some Jaja customers had? My card arrived yesterday....strangely the Post Office have a new card ( the previous one was owned by Bank of Ireland and they sold out preBrexit)

Oh dear! Fortunately I only use it when I go abroad but I think one of my Toll gizmos may be attached to it. May have to think about something else. The Post Office do another one connected to Capitol One. I wonder who they transferred to them and who they “sold” to JaJa, perhaps it was just us infrequent users or those who paid off their balances every month and don’t make them money.

Avoid them like the plague!

They changed my card and account. I went to pay the bill as I do every month using the new account number they gave on the bill. Stupidly I put the wrong reference in the online payment.

Realising immediately I rang them straight away and explained. Couldn’t help me and had to ring the disputes department during office hours. Did that, and again explained, I even said I am not going to be charged interest am I? All she could say was that the outcome would be in writing.

Fast forward two weeks and the money appears back in my bank account, check the app and the cheeky swines have charged me £12 late payment fee, while they had my money! To add insult to injury, they also charged me interest on the outstanding balance.

Ring them again and they say I have to call the disputes department again, I refuse and tell them they can call me and I want the money refunded. Leave all my contact details and promised a call back that day or the next. That was a week ago.......

Froze the card on the app and burnt the actual card in the log burner! Opened a new account with Halifax Clarity that arrived 2 days later.

Still waiting for the outcome in writing.

All I can say is avoid the robbing crooks!

I had problems registering it took nearly a month but once sorted it works fine and has same conditions as old PO card. I did complain about the time and hassle I had and they have given me £30 for my trouble. Quite happy with that.👍😊

Decided to check with Martin Lewis and as I have a Santander Current account I have applied for a Santander Zero credit card. Once it arrives I will have to log into the ATMB toll tag website and see about changing the cards over. I think I’m going to cancel it rather than risk it.

At least I got to speak to a real person... without waiting for ages either :-)

As a by the by, is there a card out there that EVERY one is happy with ?

You are having a laugh but if there is I want it in pink please.
Both of my Santander Cards (Debit and Credit) are black. Drives me up the wall as you have to double check each time.

Always been happy with my Nationwide credit card.
Set the limit quite low but once had been traveling and spending quite freely and not noticed I had exceeded this, received a phone call saying I had to ring the bank ( no return number given).
When I contacted them was told I had exceeded the limit and not to use the card, but I've just been shopping and payed for the insurance. The guy on the phone thought it quite amusing as he just kept repeating stop using it. A quick money transfer and no charges soon sorted.

My Santander debit cards are red fortunately but Lloyds is my main current account and is black. I’m a bit like Minxy Girl and open and shut current accounts following the interest rates on savings so have the Santander321 from when you got 3% interest on balances up to £20,000 it’s now only 0.6%

Don’t get me started on the prepaid cards. If MartinLewis recommends a new one, before I know it I’ve got the damn thing.

I use Tescos credit card for everything except my M&S credit in M&S and my John Lewis one in John Lewis and Waitrose but at least that’s pink. I have every loyalty card you can think of. At least those are now in my Apple wallet but I can no longer see that as my glasses are too steamed up now that it has got cold!

Oh dear I think I may have a problem.....

Damn you! Mind you I don’t drink so it would’t have caught my eye and it’s not on MartinLewis’ list and he’s my hero.

You are not getting off that easy!
Not that great a drinker but it is easy bribe for the postman; bin men etc
"
Is Virgin's current account any good?
Virgin Money's current account is our top pick for interest on credit balances, as it offers 2.02% AER variable interest on up to £1,000 and a linked easy-access account paying 0.5%.

It's also a top pick for overseas use, as it doesn't charge any fees for spending or withdrawing cash anywhere in the world.

The bank itself has got a decent customer service record – in the latest official banking service poll, 60% of its customers said they were "extremely likely" or "very likely" to recommend it."

Just cut a small piece off the top corner of the credit card so you can easily identify it, 'cut corner' (CC) = credit card (CC).(y)

You can get a second account but you won't get a second lot of wine as its restricted to one per household ...

We used to but not now, even though the interest rate on our mortgage account is only 0.84% this is higher than we could get back in easy access/notice accounts, so we're paying all our spare dosh off our mortgage to get the balance down as it's due in full next April. Its the first time paying off the mortgage has been the best short term option.

As Yoda would say ... "Resist, you must!" ... I bet you're sorely interested in the AMEX one giving 5% cashback for the first 3 months aren't you (up to £100 max).

I can understand the idea behind being able to use your phone to pay rather than have to use your actual physical credit/debit card but it's easy just to keep the card your using to hand rather than having to mess about fishing out your phone etc ... or have I got it wrong? I've never used an app to pay in a shop.

With the post office credit card we could order euro notes online on the post office website using the card to collect at the local post office.
There was no cash advance charge, assume that facility will now disappear, ie using jaja credit card there will now be a charge as with other credit cards.

Stick a bit of white tape on the one you rarely use in an ATM.

I must admit I haven’t loaded my credit cards onto Apple pay as I wasn’t quite brave enough but I do have all my points cards on there like nectar, Boots etc . My purse had got stuffed to bursting and I found having a separate thing for cards a pain. However since the steamed up glasses palaver I seem to have resurrected the cards!

I think that’s why PO never gave us the option to continue with them so that they could change their Ts & Cs? The only way to stay with them was to apply for their new one by Capital One and they are nothing like old Bank of Ireland 😢

Thats the last hour wasted :) Not sure what to do with the wife's new Santander account and 2 DDs :)
The Santander cards are used infrequently. The cash card in the UK but I do not spend much money and the wife usually gives me cash but I need to carry - just in case. The Credit Card I use for random expenses but that is once or twice a month as I use my phone so usually for drawing commission free cash abroad as I can repay it from my bank account easily. Don't want to particularly deface either as cash would be a desperate situation and a foreign bank ATM might swallow the CC if it thought it suspicious.
Getting too old for this game :)
Just have to console myself with the wine :) when it arrives :)

I'd hang fire for the moment as some of the switching deals will likely come back in the new year so you might get a cash reward instead as you've just missed the boat on the ones that were there last week, sorry! :xdoh:

Just cut it off the corner that you don't stick into the ATM then it won't affect it's use.

Many don't make a cash advance charge (eg admin) but they do charge interest on the amount from the time it's taken, however if you pay off the amount immediately (ie same day) you won't normally incur any interest but you might as well just have paid for it from a debit card anyway. I assume your Post Office card still charged interest so no difference.

Was happy with post office card but now been moved to jaja (who are they?) shall pay off next month and go to provider of MY choice.
If you do make sure you get better or the same terms and credit limit😊 when I checked with others I was unable to get as much limit being a new customer, I had built up a good amount with PO which Jaja have continued👍😊
