Hi Beanstck
It helps to know base vehicle
If Fiat based its a known problem and the usual cure is to fit a small rubber wing mounted arial (rubber duck)
Geo

In most Fiats the aerial is in the wing mirror and the reception is terrible in all but the very strong signal areas. A stick-on windscreen aerial might help, I just put a cheap halfords stubby whip job on the wing, it worked a treat.

The radio drives me mad in our Autocruise as it keeps switching itself off after 20 minutes.

That problem has a fix too its relativly simple re wire jobby:thumb:

Or do what I did and buy a proper radio! (The standard unit is cr*p!)

I discovered my Castaway had no aerial at all, just a bit of wire in the door pillar! Fairly useless!
I fitted a Halfords 'Rubber Ducky ' type and it's fine now.
