It helps to know base vehicle
If Fiat based its a known problem and the usual cure is to fit a small rubber wing mounted arial (rubber duck)

In most Fiats the aerial is in the wing mirror and the reception is terrible in all but the very strong signal areas. A stick-on windscreen aerial might help, I just put a cheap halfords stubby whip job on the wing, it worked a treat.

That problem has a fix too its relativly simple re wire jobby:thumb:

Or do what I did and buy a proper radio! (The standard unit is cr*p!)

I discovered my Castaway had no aerial at all, just a bit of wire in the door pillar! Fairly useless!
I fitted a Halfords 'Rubber Ducky ' type and it's fine now.

Yes Iv'e disconected quite a few and fitted proper ones

An expensive quality radio deserves a quality arial
a cheap radio needs one
