Has anyone used Minster products for there polar screen covers. They do a custom service where you drive in they make the cover and you drive out.

Yes, I used them for our Carthago - didn't use the while you wait service, but the cover we have is great.

Yes we had a set done for an A class in April and have used the screens over the last 3 weeks and can say they are great leaving no condensation at all on the inside and easy to fit and remove.

Yes agree with the above post on the quality and service all done within 2 hours would use the company again.

Yes, great screens and great service. Just need to ensure they understand exactly what model you have and ensure they use the right template. They will also send you a measuring kit.

With mine, the template used was not exactly right ( communication of the model was not quite right, not sure if that was my fault or theirs. ). However, I wEnt to their factory in Sheffield and they made me another whilst a waited.

The privacy screen is also worth having

Yes, great service and screen. I have one that fits 2013 Elegance i800 and so have sent you a private message.

Ann made one out of a ground sheet with a silver backing, works really well, you can feel the heat reflecting off it when you walk past the front of the van.

How do the Polar covers compare to Taylormade or Silverscreens? From what I've seen, Taylormade and Silverscreens look very similar. The Polar ones look a tad cheaper.

Very similar in build I was thinking of a Taylo made but they messed me about saying they had to go and measure a van of our type and then kept making excuses as to why they hadn’t done it so I bought a Paragon Silver screen in the end it was more expensive but they are good covers.(y)

went for silverscreens after they seemed to get most support on here. can't fault them.

Excellent product, excellent service. We've had a set of screen cover plus bonnet skirt custom made for our Rapido 8066df. Drove down to discuss finer details, took about 4 hours in all to manufacture both. My initial enquiry to them was answered by "anything is possible". Taylor-made said they couldn't do a bonnet skirt, and couldn't do the screen cover because they'd lost the pattern for Rapidos, and Silverscreens didn't bother to reply. Make of it what you will. I've used Tailor-made and Silverscreens off the shelf products in the past, and would say that the quality of all three manufacturers is similar.

Decided I am going for Polar screens. And am going to drive up for the custom made service because I want the cover to fix on with press studs like mine does now. Will email them next week to see if this is possible, also would like it in black. (y)

Just bought Polar screens and they look well made. The service was excellent with quick delivery. Our old screens left a 2” gap at the bottom of the screen where the Polar ones fit to the bottom of the screen.:xThumb:

Had our Polars for 8 years still work perfectly , easy to fit and no condensation .

Our Rapido has factory fitted studs for the screen cover. I got hold of the matching bits, and took them down with me to Minster, who fitted them as part of the job. Job done.

That’s what I intend to do. (y)

Update on this. Went to minster products today. Greeted by Graham the owner, showed him what I wanted to change from my old screen cover etc. Two hours later all done. Got the privacy mesh on this one also which we never had on the old one.
Old one which was a Hinderman and 8 years old. Held together with gaffa tape.

Hi Mikey Rv

Questions for you if that’s ok.

How are the polars holding up?

Is the privacy mesh all
around a real advantage or in hindsight would screen privacy mesh only been ok ?

Thanks
Jo

The cover is now five months old. It has been on the camper everyday since I had it made, apart from when I am driving of course. :giggle: It’s still in good condition. It’s been covered in tree blossom, tree sap etc which I washed off with soapy water. I only have the privacy mesh on the screen itself, dont think you need it on the side windows personally. It works well letting in the light when front panel folded down. The only bad point for me is because I chose to have black and it has been on all the time it is faded a lot. I wanted it to stay black. So if I was to have another I would go for the silver which will still fade because of the use mine gets but not as much...I think. A good product overall, just a shame about the fading so quick, it then it gets used more than most.

Thanks - appreciate the reply.

I will stick with silver

Ta jo

Hi Mike
Did you get your own press studs or did they have them in stock also how good are they.
We are going there on Wednesday for a screen fitted I like the idea of studs rather than using the window fitting

How’s the black one looking now ?

When i had mine made thay do not do the studs so i got them myself and fitted them before i went for a fitting .

Have sent you a message. (y)

Hi Mike

How did you fit the studs to the body?
I'm a bit wary of screwing or glueing something to the body work of a brand new motorhome.
I'm guessing that it must take a bit of force to pull the cover off the studs, so they must need to be firmly affixed?
I have a Carthago integrated 141 and looking at the Polar screens.

They are just screwed onto the body, the studs on the cover just pop on and to get them off you just pull them up and they come off easy, no force needed. (y)

They are just screwed onto the body...
That's the bit that worries me. It's a bit final, no going back, can't remove them ever!
I don't know what the body panel construction is, so how to know if it's strong enough.
If they come off so easy isn't there a risk that the wind could get underneath and pull the cover off?

Mine have been on in very windy weather and not come off. I will take some pics later when it stops raining of fixings to show you. I know it’s personal choice but I just prefer having these fixings on. (y)
