So....I know I've needed a new heater matrix in my Fiat Ducato for sometime …..no heat gives it away initially and after poring over the forums for weeks this was the unsatisfactory conclusion I came to

Also unsatisfactory was everywhere I looked it said what a pig of a job it was - dashboard out and all that.
So I finally found a garage that didn't look horrified when I mentioned the job and also after tapping their computer to get an indicative amount of hours the job should take they gave me a price. I cant remember exactly what but I suggested they air on the side of caution and add an extra hour.
So I bought the heater matrix from a place in Sheffield and took the Hymer with a list of other jobs I wanted doing which were as follows :-
1) Heater Matrix and Coolant
2) Full Service
3) Check for any MOT needs due for Jan
4) Check an Oil Leak that my last garage couldn't find (probably because they didn't look)
5) Check all Tyres and valves (probably service item but a perished valve made me highlight it.)
6) Check wheel alignment
7) Alternator check
8) Bulb for dash.
My Total bill for labour was £315 My Total Bill was £395
I had engine oil / coolant / normal service items / bulb / tyre valve / screen wash / some exhaust rubbers. (I supplied radiator at £50 ish)
The leak was a leaking steering pipe which was secured.
Alternator checked fine / belt tightened
Had tracking adjusted.
Im fairly sure he quoted me initially £350 plus VAT ? cant remember just for heater matrix so Im guessing that they were efficient with their hours especially if you clear the picture and remove the full service and its items to leave an approx. value for doing the heater matrix.
The bottom line after this full rambling message is I'm delighted with Michael George Commercials in Rotherham !!
