On site at love2stay in Shrewsbury . Heard the gravel crunching just outside the MH and we see 2 kids with bikes crossing the pitch ( we have 3 kids onboard 😀) . I think aww bless they don’t know the rules ( even more so with ,Covid 19) then mum follows up about 10 seconds behind them ! What the hell ! Either hiring a motorhome or “ new to all this “ . I have attached a picture to show just how close they got . 5L water bottle shows where they were . Way way too close . Not even on the grass !

On a site in Norfolk two of the kids from the tribe encampment next door came and sat on the step of our van and made a fuss of our dog that was hiding from the sun inside.
Compared to the adults in the tribe the kids were polite and pleasant. Our muttly loved the attention he got.

I wouldn't see anything amiss here at all, I would probably have done the same if it was closer, but used to Aires and just walking where you like, not having used sites in a few years, I wasn't even aware you had your own piece of ground that others couldn't use.

You hire a pitch on a campsite and they’re generally demarcated somehow (rope, weed killer, etc.). That area is yours while you’re there and others should not impinge, nor you on theirs. It’s not just a matter of courtesy and politeness, but ensures adequate privacy and distancing too.

Aires are a different matter, as are campsites with unmarked pitches where you help yourself to a space and get on with it!

I'm struggling to understand the problem here? You re sat inside your mh and a couple of kids and then mum walk by?

the problem is we are supposed to be socially distancing at the moment . We had the door open and just about to jump outside and they just decide to walk over the pitch at about 2-3 metres away . I just think the parents should educate the kids at these times . They could easily have walked around or even on the grass . We take any risks at the moment ?That is the space we would normally have an awning up .

And if they had seen you emerging from your door they could easily have diverted course to maintain sufficient distance.

With the benefit of 6 months or so experience the current thinking is that its a lot more difficult to contract the virus outside.

IMO the current tendency of too many people - to scurry past without even acknowledging their fellow human is not good for any of us and turning into Victor Meldrew makes it even worse.

Sorry I'm with Swifter on this, give people space, that site has nice large pitches and plenty of space between them so no need to wander through another person's space, its not just because of covid its also just good manners.

I must be very old fashion or very strict or both and even more, and perhaps... not very French :p , but this is something I really hate: people crossing/ coming on my pitch. I pay for a number of services which includes a number of square metres. You stay on your pitch or use the path to go from one place to another one.
I don't know who I hate most the kids or the parents who don't teach rules to their children.
Having been a teacher and being a child minder now, I know it is easy to do.
Most of you probably never took the time to translate my signature. It says: Et pour tous les impudents qui se garent trop près de moi : "La liberté de chacun s'arrête là où commence celle du voisin" disait mon Papa
And for all the unshamed ones who park too close to me: "The freedom of each one stops where that of the neighbour begins" my Dad used to say.

For me, this saying applies to this situation just the same.
