Has pitch etiquette gone ,just got back off Cmhc site on the wirrel. The amount of people who just walk past your door is beyond a joke .Kids playing ball all over the place .Saw 2 adults with 2 kids cycle over power cables .You can not blame the kids when adults are doing it .We ended up putting wid breaks up for some peace .The problem is they just walk in front of someone 🤢🤢🤢🤢

Unfortunately the lumpenproletariat moved into caravans and motorhomes at the start of Covid and consideration for others is very often the least of peoples concerns. (Sounds a bit snobbish but can't argue with reality)
Do yourself a favour and avoid club sites and choose CL's & CS's.

Seems as stated some just don't give a toss, I'm holiday so will do as I please brigade frustrating, but in general most are polite, as my OH says will you just chill out, wind breaks for me too.

have snappy growly little dog on a length of rope to reach the boundaries of your pitch. Then sit inside drinking beer and watching tv. I see it so often on sites that it must be the "done thing" these days

We had 3 families in front of us last week who had abt 8 kids btwn them. We have 2 dogs, both of whom are generally good natured, but wary of people they dont know.
We had a wind break up with the two dogs tethered on shortish cable leads with us behind the break. We had just sat down with a hot cup of tea and then it started. One boy, about 12 , climbed under the railing seperating the pitches and shot past. Of course the dogs reacted. Then abt 2 mins later he comes back again and the dogs almost knock over the table and hot tea. Only trying to relax. I called him to point out that he shouldnt do this , as it was disturbing the dogs and could be dangerous with the hot tea getting knocked over. He totally ignored me.
Then abt 10 mins later a sibling abt 2 yrs old tried to do the same thing , but to get to the dogs!! I shouted at him , I would be worried the dogs could either knock him over or scare him, then you get into ' you should keep your dogs under control ' type of conversation.
So enough is enough, I found the warden and asked him to have a word, which he did.
Our neighbours had had the same with them and they had a GSD, , who didnt take kindly to strangers wandering on the pitch! And again despite words they still kept doing to them, until they put a wind break right up across the back of the pitch.
Does my head in. People often complain about dogs barking on a site, but quite often it can be things like this that set them off, with people having no thought or consideration for others.

This is why I only ever used CL's...

But I have had to stay on a campsite now and again. One springs to mind that was excellent.
Each pitch had a section of gravel to park on and a section of grass. Each pitch was surround on 3 sides by a small 2-3 foot high hawthorn hedge.
Each pitch had a grey waste drain, a fresh water tap and an electric hook up.

I thought it was brilliantly laid out and solved so many issues.

Well my pitch etiquette went a little when I yelled at a couple last weekend! :giggle: My exact words were “ if you don’t shut that f#cking dog up I’ll come over there and stamp on its f#cking head”! The bastard thing never shut up for at least an hour until my “advice”. Bark bark bark bark yap yap yap yap bark bark bark yap yap yap! They said they’d report me to the warden, I replied carry on then and we will see who gets thrown off first! Shall I go and get them for you? They didn’t and strangely the dog was a lot quieter after that.:giggle: I did get a round of applause from other pitch occupants who had obviously also had enough of its non stop noise!
Just to clarify I obviously wouldn’t have stamped on it but was trying to get my point across to the ignorant owners.

I , when first starting out, thought that the wind breaks were anti-social, making a statement "this is mine" kind of thing.

Then we went to Burnham-on-Sea Haven site!

Oh man o man I couldn't buy one fast enough!

We’ve only been at this game for 5 years but this is the first year we’ve gone and bought a windbreak,to discourage dogs, kids from getting too close. Lots of new owners don’t seem to have any manners,I wonder if they are always like it or does a campsite bring out the worst in them.

The worst of the lot was a guy walking his dog past the back of vans and stood and waited as the dog did a dump one one pitch then took a piss up another awning, then wandered on as if it was normal behaviour
