Pioneer DVD player

Hi we have a 2018 Carthago chic-c-line and have just tried to play a dvd,I selected AV on the tv put a dvd film in the pioneer radio dvd sat-nav player but all we get is a message on the tv and the player it is illegal to watch dvds while driving what am I doing wrong??

Had a similar issue with our Carthago unable to play DVD. Camper UK tried to give instructions over the telephone but unable to make it play. In the end a wire had come out on the back of the unit.

Some units use a handbrake signal to know when the vehicle is parked. Is the handbrake on?
