Passport check

Hi all a little bored yesterday and looking through my emails one was from CMC about the changes travelling to Europe. One point was passport check I new mine was was due to expire Feb 22 but I checked on the gov.uk passport check and mine expired Dec 20 when I renewed mine you could renew early. So all I'm saying is a 2 minute check on line is worth while and potentially save a domestic/ embarrassing moment at the border control

You can renew early but you no longer get the unused days plus a year, right?

Just done my passport so far until it arrives it's been 5 days and DPD has it now from this morning so probably Monday (will be 8 DAYS not the 3 weeks suggested)
