Finding Perfection
Hi Funsters.

That’s it.. Im part of the gang.

I mentioned in the Summer I was on the look out for a Motorhome.. Well, I waited a while but Ive only been and gone and done it and bought myself one.

So, He/She is a £25k Fiat Ducato Chausson Welcome 75 with exactly the set up I was looking for..

A bit about me.. Im a full time house sitter. This basically means I travel round the country house sitting, looking after people’s houses and caring for their animals. Ive been living this life for the past 18 months but gradually realised that it was hard to find consecutive house sits. This meant I was maybe having to stay at a friends house or in a hotel for a couple of days in between sits. A motorhome was the perfect answer. I now have a somewhere to call home when Im not in someone else’s home. I also own a two seater sports car which had been my only form of transport With everything I own crammed into it. I dont actually have my own place so its great to have somewhere I can keep my stuff and I now have LOADS of room as the Welcome has a massive garage.

I was house sitting in Inverness and the owner of the van drove it up from Newcastle and left it with me.. As you will see from this picture it immediately got snowed in..

So, Im now at my current house sit in Dollar in Scotland prior to being with family in the Highlands for Christmas, then Edinburgh for the next 8 weeks for my next house sit.

What can I say? It’s going to be an exciting 2023.

.gavin.

ps As you might imagine I already have a list of things I want to fix or upgrade on the van so I will be asking the hive mind for some advice. 🙂🫶

I'm glad we are all different, we are doing our third sit at this one in Spain at the moment, bit cool for the pool 😉 but warmer than your location. 😎

Motorhome looks nice and homely, top tip make sure there's no water in it or that will freeze, and try and get plugged into electric to keep your batteries charged up. 👍🙂 Bob.

Was well drained Bob. Its well thawed now as Im back down near Edinburgh but Im heading up again this week for christmas. Ill be making sure that its drained when it looks like a cold snap is on the horizon. I have some issues with my tap which I need to get sorted anyway. It it leaking like crazy.. could have been damaged in the cold but Im thinking it might be something they hadn‘t told me about.
