Took the van yesterday for a service and MOT, should be back today.. The garage wanted to make me an offer.. Looking online, the value of my van has remained the same for approx 10 years, so we were thinking about changing the van...

So is there any advantage in not having a part Ex? No finance required..

A lot less hassle and worry is the big plus for doing a part ex.

With vans being in such high demand I’d expect that part exchange could be a good option.

A dealer will make money selling your old van, so may offer a better deal overall as there is more profit in the desk, plus if you’re dropping off your old van and picking up a new one at the same time the logistics could be easier too.

Easy to change no hassle but depends on the deal, last time we changed we got more in a part ex than we could have got selling privately.

weigh up if you want rid without hassle vs the extra few quid.
Sometimes I just get rid, though actually MADE money on webuyanycar once

When I sell my cars or vans I let my mate who has a dealership sort it out. He can offer warranty and finance but best bit is nobody is annoying me after a few week/months if they have problems!

Sold a van to a chap once and he came back 2 months later moaning about a noise in the engine, then tells me he’s been doing 1200 miles a week in it!!

In the current climate finance buyers get priority your cash is no good
Expect no more than £2.50 off the screen price either

Your van might be worth more but the next van will have a premium on it too...

I've tried to get a valuation for our van. 2 company's approached non bothered to come back (one did, asked a question, i answered, they never bothered after that). Didn't realise a 2018, 5500 mile AutoTrail with loads of options was worthless.

Was that when you were stuck in the ME? Maybe they thought they would not know when you could deliver.;)

Yes it was and maybe that was the case. However as mentioned one of the company's did come back and ask the mileage (i had already given on the info form. I sent again) they did not come back.

Have a look to see what similar Rapidos are advertised for (other brands are available, even possibly Burstners  )

Then have a good look on what you are thinking of buying, plus the availability and you may get some idea of where you stand...... PE in today’s climate may be the best option.

This is interesting..... takes to to the right link
