Hi All,
My crazy son is doing the Nottingham Outlaw (Iron Man) Triathlon July 25th and we hope to go and support him, watch not run!
We unusually find ourselves in the UK for it but for many reasons have not been able to commit to booking anywhere to park up in the MoHo.
So do any of you great Funsters near Nottingham have space for us to park up within 10 or 15 miles of Holme Pierpoint? Just somewhere safe to park up and sleep in the MoHo for a couple of nights 24th & 25th and leave it while we go off on our scooter. It is a 7mt A-class and we don’t need anything other than a bit of flattish space to park and sleep for the two nights.
A long shot I know but “If you don’t ask ……”
For those that don’t know this Iron Man is a 2.4 mile swim then 112mile bike ride then 26.2 mile run with a time limit!
Thanks for reading and any other suggestions you might have.

WOW, you are either very young, unbelievably fit or amazingly crazy, that is said in fun 🤩 . I am amazed at just the facial changes in my son from all the training.

I did this event a few years ago. As already mentioned, cracking campsite at Holme Pierpoint.
Your son will thank you as well as he will have somewhere to crash after the race.
Good luck

He is booked in there with his own PVC, we weren’t expecting to still be in the UK.

Hollingwell farm 01773 872115 she may be worth giving a call she’s a lovely person and may be able to help you out,I was last there in July and still paid a fiver it is a farm yard with nice patch of grass for parking but I’ve never been there if there’s been a lot of rain so could be a bit sludgy😎

Thanks Alan I have just checked the distance and it is about 40km via the M1 to the National Sports Centre the other side of Nottingham so perhaps a bit far on a tiny 110cc scooter Two up early in the morning and late at night.! But thanks very much for the suggestion it sounds great.

Search for sites is showing that you can park on the Racecourse park & ride NG2 4BE?

There's no comments /reviews on it, no idea if it'd be suitable.

Best of luck to your son (y)

I see that a Stonehouse carvery near Derby (Bartlewood Lodge) let M homes stay on their car park. There is also one just across the road from Thorntons Holt so maybe worth a call.

there's a pub called the starting gate at colwick on Brit stops 01159878628.
A campsite at Gunthorpe Trentside NG14 7FB.
I think the Unicorn at Gunthorpe allow stop overs. 0115 9663612
Lowdam Caravans are also at Gunthorpe also have a site. Broken Link Removed
The Anchor Inn At Gunthorpe have a small site. 0115 9663291
Gunthorpe is only 15 minutes from Holme Pierpont if you go through back lanes, Shelford etc.

Height restriction into car park sadly

The rose and crown in cotgrave used to let you stay on car park
There is a cl site between the shepherds pub and cotgrave itself, cant remember the name, it's a farm

There is also a site at langar airfield

I was going to suggest Gunthorp, but seen I've been beaten to it.

The site at Lowdhams Leasureworld is a motorhome carpark, normally free to their customers, it has space for about 15 motorhomes with water and EHU and is walking distance to the Unicorn pub (which also has a campsite behind it)
We have had a couple of nights at Lowdhams, it's fine, just after heavy rain it can have 3" of standing water, so bring your wellies.

Not sure what you have to do to qualify as a customer, but they do have a decent accessory shop, so there will always be something you need to buy, otherwise I'm sure you could pay a site fee.

Thanks for the last few answers, sorry not to reply before but have had an internet blackout since Sunday. I am sure we can find somewhere with all the suggestions.
