Overnight stop-over in Lake District?

Heading south on the M74-M6 today and hoping for a free over-night stop once we cross into England. Is there a similar Forest scheme in place to the scottish one where you can use forestry carparks? Or anything similar around the M6 / Lake District area. Don't mind forking out £10-£15 if needed
