I currently have my car and Motorhome on separate breakdown policies but have found a company that has a Breakdown Personal Policy covering any vehicle (as opposed to a nominated vehicle) that also covers/includes Motorhomes/Campervan up to 3500kg provided the length is less than 7 metres and 2.3 metres wide including any fitments.

I’m fine on weight and length, the only issue I have is the overall body width. My MH is 2200mm overall body width and 2690mm including wing mirrors. I don’t have anything else on the vehicle (fitment).

I’m curious as to what measurement is used for overall body width - with or without wing mirrors?.

Any thoughts

Thanks

I would assume that the overall width includes the wing mirrors, but could be their folded measurements

Body width is always given without mirrors. It's what it says on the tin i.e. width of body.
Some manufacturers like Hymer give two widths the lower one (body width) being the basic body the higher one (overall body width) includes wheel arches and other fitments but nither include mirrors.

Yep. I’ve read it again and there is Overall Body Width (which is what I wanted) and the other is called Overall Width (with the word Body missing).

Thanks

Yes mirrors are not included.

Usually mirrors and corner bumpers are excluded from width but ask the breakdown company, they may play from a different rule book.
