Over 70 DVLA stress test

I really don’t think you have to worry. The health requirements for a B license are very much lower.

I had a heart attack in March and was told I could drive a car after one week. When they got me to the hospital they took me straight in for a stent operation. The stent was successful but even if it had not been I would have been allowed to drive again after 4 weeks even with a dodgy ticker.

Presumably there was a medical condition of some sort identified on your D4 medical report that caused them to send you for a stress test. Look it up in the guide for Doctors I linked to at #65.

Which is a bit rediculous when you think about it. A heart attack at the wheel is dangerous whatever vehicle you are driving.

Back in 2009 when I had my heart attack and stent fitted I was told I could carry on driving but was "advised" to not drive for a month. My gut feeling was that nobody considered my c1 but I had it writing I could continue driving. (I didn't ) I was happy to wait a month as the post op chest pains were enough to stop me being silly.
And no Kate, if they remove your c1 you still drive up to 3500 cwt

That is no longer allowed. The rules for a Group 2 licence (C1) are quite clear and you must stop driving and notify the DVLA. After 6 weeks you can only resume driving following a medical assessment, which means a stress test. You can use a B license after 1-4 weeks without notifying the DVLA.

I paid to see a doctor 4 driver type of thing - which is a chat and eye test basically. BUT' if you have any medical condition don't bother as it counts for nothing and they (DVLA) will go to your doctor for details and you will have the treadmill test. I cannot believe how different your tests were to mine, I was given the full distance with an eventual pulse of 182. That just CANT be right ?
General guideline for max heart rate when exercising is 220 minus your age in years.

Yes but angioplasty/stent isn’t major heart surgery. With delays it was 12 weeks before I was given the stress test and I survived it. However I will downsize before doing it again.
