Can anyone recommend a suitable outdoor cover for a Piaggio MP3 or Metropolis 400? There seems to be a load around with very mixed reviews but very few specific to the trikes. MP3 and Metropolis both similar in size and want a cover to use when towing

Bump - does anyone have any suggestions?

I purchased an Oxford cover for our Peugeot Metropolis last year. Been on the trike for past 3 months and seems fine.
Hi Dave,

Which model Oxford did you buy as there are several ones that (to me) look similar? I have the Metropolis with a top box but I guess that is easily removed

Thanks Dave. Link works fine - will order one now. BTW which trailer do you use? I've just bought a secondhand Armitage MP3 trailer but I need to sort out the ramp as the Metropolis bottoms out. I thought about extending the ramp by using levelling blocks, then thought about adding a 4 x 2 inch block halfway up the ramp to raise the rear wheel or even buying a longer ramp. If you have the Armitage trailer - have you had any problems?

We initially had an Easy Lifter modified for the trike, however, it failed on 2 occasions and buckled owing to the weight distribution not being even. We only had 8 days before heading to the continent, so purchased a standard trailer as Armitage wanted 10 week lead in. Bought a fold up wheel chair ramp to get it on and off.

Wow that looks smart. I'm green with envy .:sick:
On the face of it you did the right thing as the Armitage trailer isn't right for the Metropolis without modification as I'm now discovering. Surprisingly the Armitage trailer needed a few mods for the MP3 and I note that Armitage have revised their trailer with a subsequent price increase. Don't get me wrong the trailer is very well made and will last a lifetime but I can't help but feel they could have done a better job had they had more input from actual MP3 owners.
Thanks again for your help and advice

No problem, hope you get it all sorted and safe travels!

All sorted. Angle grinder to modify the wheel scoops, filed down and used split garden hose to protect bike from chafing. Added second jockey wheel for safer loading/unloading and sorted out the ramp by using a 2mtr plank of wood 145 x 48 mm placed along the centre line of the (flimsy) ramp. Oxford cover ordered. Like you Armitage quoted 12 weeks however we are off to France in March so not enough time. I was on the point of ordering a trailer from CMF when a secondhand one popped up on eBay. All set to go.

Oxford cover arrived and fits a treat - I've even ordered my Euros (before the exchange rate tanks thanks to Putin) so really am ready to go

Seems you are sorted but for anyone else in the future, I found Bags4everything helpful when I was looking for a bespoke cover
