Our local EE shop is offering 120gb 5G data for £20

per month presumably (terms and conditions apply). Would be great for mobile data in the van ... or home. From the promised speeds, it makes you wonder what is the point of home landline broadband. Only thing is that apparently at the moment the nearest 5G is in Bath or Bristol, 20+ miles away.

Ive used EE for years at home and on the road uo till now I can only get 30 gig for 21 quid. I inquired about this and its not for mifi but for phones so they tell me it might not work 100% in my huewia so I need to phone tech services when I get back from thetford

All phone sims should work in mifis without an issue, the providers had to stop the 'restriction' that they made about them only being allowed to be used in phones a good few years ago now. The only one that you can't use the other way round is the pure data ones (eg from Three) which will only work in mifis AFAIK.

I have just renewed my phone sim with Vodafone 100GB for £20 month, at the same time I also got a sim for my mifi 100GB for £12 a month both on contract, will be limited to 25GB abroad a month on each sim.

O2 have recently put a restriction on there phone Sims, to get around the fact you are allowed to use them In all your devices. The new condition is the device must be capable of being powered by it's own battery so AFAIK mifi ok router not, but please check.

It's not just the data allowance but the 5g speed that I was talking about. It's as fast as some home broadband

I have a mifi set up at our static caravan with an EE sim, I get 200gb per month for £19.12 ( recently went up 12p)

Possibly something like the same way Microsoft knows if you're trying to install Windows \ Office on a second machine using the same key. It checks the hardware on the device.

I was lucky enough a couple of months back to get the glitch EE 200gb 24 month sim, with a smart benefit included for the whole term, half price, £12.50 a month.
After being with Three for year's, I've been very impressed with the coverage

Rang plusnet up the other day, they are offering 22GB for £10/month for new customers. I only get 8GB for £10 .

So from next month they are giving me the same deal that'll do

Remember 5G only covers about small areas of 150 cities/towns in the UK.
These all tend to be in places where there is no overnighting in motorhomes.

Therefore, for now, 5G capabilities in Motorhomes is zero use/interest.
Having said which, if you are buying a wifi router for your van, make sure it's 5G ready.

I wish they would spread some of it around here. We are stuck with o2 (best) or Vodafone.

I can only say when I got mine a couple of years ago, I compared suppliers and best cobversg coastalwise was EE. I've never yet had a no signal

5g is massively faster than the average home broadband. That's if you can find a connection.
