Just started motorhoming after years and years of caravanning. Loving that we feel able to get out and about all year round, which we didn't tend to do before. Caravan went into storage in November, came out again in March! Out of interest during the colder months, what do you find to be the best temperature to have the van at overnight. I had the thermostat at 15°, outside dropped to 1° and I noticed the wall by my bed was a little condensed this morning but dried quickly.
We have a cover for the windscreen etc which has been a revelation.
Any thoughts?

Welcome from Ciren!(y)
We just leave the heating on the ‘night’ setting, so if it gets too cold, the heating comes on…..but that rarely happens.

I set the diesel heater to kick in at 16 degC. This allows us to sleep under a 4 TOG duvet.

Just had ours set at 11 degrees last night. It got dow to 12 degrees at 4 am and when the sun came up, it quickly rose to 16 degrees without any heating. Nice temp to sleep, and no condensation, but we do have blinds and a net curtain to stop draughts from the cab.

Thank you, I think that's the key to lower it a bit. I was too hot to be honest so will definitely suit me! 😅

I use the night setting on the heating which is about 13°C until 0630 when it goes to the day setting of 20°C - nice to get up and stand on a toasty warm heated floor

I have mine set to 15 over night, anything more is too warm for me. but I always have at least 3 windows vented open. Never see any signs of condensation, not even on the front screen. (i dont ever put the screen cover on)

I fitted a diesel heater, and we have it set to maintain about 17-18° when we are in our MH overnight.
Where did you fix your heater fuel tank please? Just concerned re deisel smells etc.. (y)
Thinking of installing an underslung heater .

My diesel heater fuel tank is mounted externally under the back of our van.
I had a mate weld up an aluminum tank for me which holds just under 15 litres.
I made an aluminum "L" bracket to hold the tank and this is bolted to the rear chassis extension under the van on the driver's side, and it's filled via a filler point in the van's back panel that I bought from a boat chandlers.
You could probably do something along the same lines with either a metal jerry can or outboard motor fuel tank.
You should have said when we were parked across from you at Newark as you could have had a good look at the install when we were there.

I program the boiler to set back to 12°C overnight. Don't like it too hot, nor to lose too much heat through the skylight.
When it comes on in the morning, it's always starting from that temperature and takes about 30minutes to get up to the required daytime temperature.

I made up a pad from a few layers of silvered bubble wrap insulation bonded together that I fit into our skylight on cold nights, plus it does a good job of reducing the heat in our van when the sun is blazing down on the roof. I also fit pads like these between the blinds and the window in cold weather.

I do the same with a couple of foam cut outs that fit into the skylights in the toilet and shower. Makes a huge difference when it’s cold outside

Thanks for that, someone had a deisel heater that contained the fuel tank,5 litres, sort of portable, that he kept in his garage until it was used and then placed it under his van and just plugged in the 12v and the blown air duct.
I had thought of a deisel heater prior but all the storage space in the 175 is internal and I didnt fancy the idea of having deisel inside the van.
I did see a good YouTube vid where the fuel takeoff had been done through the main deisel tank vent outlet utilising a narrower bore take off tube.
So lots of different ideas to consider.

AN extra cuddle of the wife or hubby or partner (Not sure what is or isn't politically correct?)......Would suffice!

Plumbing into your van fuel tank would probably be your best option.
I went the external tank route as I run our diesel heater on home heating oil as we are on heating oil at home which is considerably cheaper than road diesel.

Yes the other options are red deisel and kerosene, which was being used by the portable heater I saw.. (y)
