Coming down A12 turned of and crunch gearbox gone I think. (Renault master 3.0dci )
Can't move can't move and can't move gearstick waiting for AA gonna be a long day and end of holiday ?
Not sure what to do get it fixed near here or towed home and fixed at local place. They just changed gbox oil on service !!!!!

Oh dear, sounds expensive, at least it's at the end not the beginning of your hols.
May be worth giving Lancing Commercial a ring & getting it to them as they are on your doorstep.

Always found them very good, I would want to put my van in Tulletts grubby workshop, unless its improved.

I paid LC over £700 to do rear breaks and it failed Mot on brakes. And there was the time I got air into diesel system as they didn't do fuel filter correctly.
So that was that

I use Everymans Garage in Chichester as mine is too large for LC

Just make sure thete was oil in the gearbox after the service, sometimes one person empties and leaves it to the junior to refill, assuming he remembers.

I was thinking the same but then read the op again and he states he is on his way home from holiday so I would have thought the box would not last his holiday if no oil in it I think it would have locked up before now

Hmm. That could be Halesworth, Parham, Martlesham all just off the A12 in Suffolk or Boxted in Essex. Can't find a Button Lane near any of those though.
The good news is that it sounds like you are sorted for getting home now though if a hire car is on route. Otherwise we would have come out if it was nearbyish.

Got home about hour ago after after the van was recovered on low loader. That 1st recovery guy organised. And another recover truck brings me a curtosy car. I drove to my cousin's for a much needed dinner in Bishops stortford. Left his house 9.30 only to sit on M25 for ages and ages.
Van be with my garage tommorow the gear lever will not budge the van won't drive and needs clutch held down to move van. No noises no issues just happened really really sudden as I was turning of A12. Lucky I did otherwise I would have caused chaos on A12.
