I would like to hear the views of those that have or have had an Omni-vent vent in their motorhome or van.

Not interested in hearing about any other roof fans other than the Omni-vent. (y)

We've had four vans with Omnivent's & never had any problems whatsoever.

The one's with auto close when it rains are the best.

Likewise I've had both the ,manual and auto close ,and fitted a few over time . Never had a problem ,except nowadays they're getting expensive .

And I use to moan when they were £45 +pp+vat ( Rose and co hull ltd)

We have one but the electronics have been giving problems for a while (at 2 half years old) and now have failed.
It’s great when cooking as it draws out the steam etc and you can tell it’s been effective as the fan has got quite sticky and dirty.
When very hot ambient temperature then it’s nice to turn it to blow air in on your neck when cooking as the breeze effect is cooling.
Only downside is that it’s quite noisy in our PVC and it’s alwats a relief to the ears when turned off. Certainly we could not sleep with it on.

Had one in a caravan and our first MH

Hated it, makes the skylight too dark, draws fat / grease through a fine mesh that is hard to clean

Would rather have a conventional skylight any day

edit - for clarity, both of these would have been over 10 years old, the spec may have improved,

Had omni vents in all our caravans, the later versions do not like hot weather, and would randomly go to maximum speed which is very noisey if the outside temp was in the high 20's.
Our motor homes have had Fiamma turbo vents which in our opinion are better.

What’s the best way to clean the mesh

I found it difficult to clean. The fantastic one lots easier.

We had one in our Autotrail it was a bit noisy on full belt but a very effective fan on both in and out functions and was quite easy to clean with care.

I don't know about the fan you specifically mentioned but the newer Fantastic fan has a clipon fly screen very easy to remove and clean

I agree had both and was surprised that the Fiamma one moved more air than the Omnivent and worked well.
