Hi guys
My van doesn’t come up on any database for some reason but it’s a 22 model 2.2 fiat ducato and want to grab an oil and filter to store for in between services any ideas what to use apart from Petronas as that’s mega expensive

You may emit less CO2, but then the life of the engine, and so the vehicle is less. You can’t lubricate an engine on water, and these new oils are nearly as thin as that, especially when hot. Remember, the manufacturer doesn’t want your vehicle to last, they want to sell more.
It works the other way round 0w 30 will have the same viscosity as 5w 30 when hot it's thinner when cold though.

So it’s really thin every time you start your engine.

I run 5w 40 in mine. But even 5w 30 would be better than 0w oil.

Well I was quoted £185 for 7 litres of Petronas so went down the route of Shell Helix Ultra c2/3 0w30 for £70 this is only to do an annual change as my van is due a dealer service every two years and done 4000 miles and coming up to 3 years old

Down in Spain and used a bit out of my 1l top up bottle to top up as level dropped by 2 segments, would like to buy the correct spec oil for the 2.2 and of course it’s difficult to find the Fiat oil here, having read through this useful thread it seems to me that the Repsol MASTER ECO F 0W-30 is the same spec as the Selena
It’s 0W-30 with ACEA C2 and/or FIAT 9.55535-DS1 specification (attached) so unless anybody disagrees with this oil, I will get some for top up purposes as it appears to be Low Ash to suit the DPF
